Pagans descend on Stonehenge to celebrate the winter solstice

Around 1,500 people including druids, pagans and revellers gathered at the ancient monument of Stonehenge in Wiltshire this morning to watch the sunrise as part of winter solstice celebrations.

Today is winter solstice, the shortest day of the year, and to celebrate thousands of pagans packed the ancient site of Stonehenge.
